If you are a keyboard and mouse player there’s literally no reason you can’t just play against other players using the same hardware, unless you simply want to keep the unfair advantage that keyboard gives over controller. If most console players prefer a level playing field and therefor prefer no keyboard and mouse in their lobbies, it makes perfect sense to separate the keyboard and mouse players out to their own lobbies.
